The silence in that frame is what gets me—you can almost feel the cold Wyoming air pressing in around that bison. It’s hanging above my desk and I keep catching myself staring at it mid-work, which is exactly what I wanted.

The stark contrast of that lone bison against the deep snow is exactly what I wanted to capture, and the winter setting makes it feel so raw and powerful. It’s already the centerpiece of my living room, and I can’t stop noticing new details in the landscape every time I walk by.

The cold practically radiates off the page — you can feel Yellowstone’s winter in the way the light hits the snow. I’ve hung it by my desk and keep catching myself zoning out on that lone figure.
