Nikdy nezapomenu na to, co jsem zažil uvnitř tohoto úžasného jeskynního útvaru. Měl jsem pocit, že na mě hledí stovky kamenných tváří, jejichž oči strašidelně vyhlížely ze skalních stěn. Čím déle tam zůstanete, tím více tváří a útvarů se objeví. Toto místo je prodchnuto legendami indiánů kmene Navajo a já jsem skutečně cítil jejich duchovní přítomnost.
The descent into Sphinx Cavern was pure adrenaline, every turn revealing another row of carved faces that seemed to track my flashlight. That eerie sense of being watched never let up, even when I stopped and held my breath near the rock walls. It’s the kind of place that sticks with you long after
I booked the sunset tour and honestly lost track of time standing among those stone faces in the cavern — the way the light caught their carved features felt almost alive. The sheer scale of the space made me feel tiny, but in the best way possible.
The flashlight barely reaches the far walls, which only makes the carved faces feel more alive as they emerge from the shadows. I kept stopping to listen, and the silence in there was so complete it almost hummed. That hike down was worth every step.
