An dem Tag, an dem ich dieses Foto aufnahm, war Ansel Adams Geburtstag – der Mann, der für einige der ikonischsten Schwarz-Weiß-Bilder von Yosemite verantwortlich ist. Ich hatte ein paar Tage in Yosemite mit wirklich schlechtem Wetter verbracht, aber ich hielt durch, denn nichts ist besser für dramatische Aufnahmen als ein aufklarendes Gewitter. Ich wanderte unter einer dicken Nebeldecke zum Inspiration Point. Im Laufe einiger Stunden brannte der Nebel ab und sank auf den Talboden. Bridal Veil Falls schien zu leuchten, als er aus seiner bergigen Enklave hervortrat. Dieser Ort ist ein Mekka für Fotografen, und das zu Recht – er muss einer der schönsten Orte der Welt sein. Diese Aufnahme entstand direkt vor meinen Augen, alle Elemente der Natur in perfekter Harmonie.
