Hawai'i ist wirklich ein magischer Ort, und jedes Mal, wenn ich dort bin, versuche ich, das auf Film festzuhalten. Lanikai ist ein so klassischer, reiner, ikonischer hawaiianischer Strand – ich wollte seine Seele einfangen. Die beiden vorgelagerten Inseln gaben dem Bild ein Gefühl von Größe, man möchte einfach dort draußen sein.

Die reiche, türkisfarbene Farbe des Wassers hat mich umgehauen. Ich verwendete einen Polfilter, um die Blendung zu reduzieren, während sich einige wahnsinnige Wolken am Horizont sammelten, um dieses Paradies zu vervollständigen. Man spürt das warme tropische Wasser an den Zehen und die kühlende Sommerbrise im Gesicht, wenn man in dieses Bild blickt. Es reinigt die Seele und entführt einen an einen besonderen Ort – dort draußen auf einer Insel.
