Aikainen aamu metsässä on todella taianomainen. Kosteuden tuoksu, raikas viileys ja tunnelma. Ajoin pimeässä Forksista, Washingtonista metsän sisäänkäynnille. Tarvitsin pehmeää, pilvistä valoa tähän kuvaan. Aurinkoinen sää olisi pilannut tunnelman ja luonut heijastuksia lehvistöön – toisin sanoen liikaa kontrastia. Heti kun metsä alkoi valaistua, sykkeeni kiihtyi. Etsin kuumeisesti koskematonta metsää kuvauspaikkaa, juosten kuin hullu puiden läpi. Näin auringon pilkistävän sumun läpi ja tiesin, että tämä oli otettava. Vanha kaatunut puu, joka oli lehvistön peitossa, tarjosi luonnollisen linjan kuvaan, ja jumalansäteet vain räjähtivät! Tämä se oli, painoin suljinta ja ikuistin hetken, jota en koskaan unohda.
