Canyonlandsin kansallispuisto, Utah
Mesa Archin kuvaaminen oli päiväni tärkein tavoite Canyonlandsissa. Kun suuntasin paikalle, valtava keskikesän myrsky lähestyi ja pilvet pyörivät yläpuolellani. Keskityin pian taivaan tanssiin ja otin sarjan kuvia myrskyn lähestyessä. Hetkeä myöhemmin kaatosade kasteli minut täysin ja täytti kuivan aavikkoilman uskomattomimmalla tuoksulla. The lighting in this piece is unreal—those storm clouds catching the last rays over the arch make it feel like you're standing right there. I’ve stared at it every morning since it arrived and still notice new depth in the sandstone layers.
The storm clouds actually add so much drama to this shot—the way they swirl over the arch makes it feel alive. I've stared at it on my wall every day for a week and still notice something new in the lighting.
Got this as a print of Mesa Arch in Canyonlands and the mid-summer storm clouds swirling overhead capture exactly the drama I remember from my own trip. The detail on the sandstone edges is sharp enough to make me feel like I'm back there.
