En arrivant sur la plage de Kihei, je ne savais pas quel spectacle magnifique allait se dérouler sous mes yeux. J'avais repéré cette zone la veille, en observant comment les vagues se croisaient en suivant la courbe douce de la plage. C'étaient ces formations de vagues que je voulais mettre en valeur dans la photo, mais en voyant l'horizon commencer à s'embraser d'une lueur ardente, je savais que j'allais aussi assister à un coucher de soleil magnifique. J'ai attendu que le soleil soit assez bas pour projeter son reflet jusqu'au rivage, puis j'ai pris mon exposition depuis l'océan illuminé afin que les palmiers restent dramatiquement en silhouette contre le ciel du soir. 45 épreuve d'artiste / 950 édition limitée
