La simplicité de la nature est si puissante. Je photographiais les couleurs de l'automne dans le parc national d'Acadia, dans le Maine, et je voulais quelque chose de spécial. Lors d'une randonnée la veille, j'ai remarqué cette composition délicate de roseaux et de nénuphars dans un étang peu profond, mais je n'ai pas pu la photographier à cause du vent fort. J'y suis retourné à pied, et le calme de la fin d'après-midi avait complètement transformé la scène. Les roseaux se reflétaient parfaitement, et les nénuphars multicolores ajoutaient un élément spécial à ce moment tranquille. Le silence de la journée n'était rompu que par le déclencheur de mon appareil. Cette image a capturé mes sentiments sur notre monde délicat et fragile dans une abstraction simpliste.
