La Grande Île, Hawaï
Photographier le ciel nocturne est extrêmement difficile mais aussi très gratifiant. Au sommet du Mauna Kea, à 14 000 pieds, sur la Grande Île, se trouve un endroit spécial dont je me souviendrai toujours. Une expérience unique – entouré de 360° de ciel nocturne. J'avais quitté Hilo, où il faisait 80°F, et maintenant la température était glaciale. Littéralement. Je devais absolument prendre cette photo et profiter de l'un des ciels les plus clairs de la terre. Une exposition de 30 secondes a permis aux nébuleuses de la Voie lactée de se révéler à travers l'objectif. J'étais émerveillé car seul l'appareil photo pouvait voir cela, l'œil humain ne le peut pas ! J'ai cadré cet arbre dans l'obscurité totale de la nuit. C'était frustrant, et il a fallu beaucoup d'essais et d'erreurs. Mais au final, j'ai obtenu la photo. Mère Nature est incroyable.
