On Mount Desert Island in a synchronicity of Nature, the spruce forests come right down to touch the windswept coastline. I loved the contrast of the rounded pebbles on the beach against the jagged sheer pink granite face of the cliffs, and knew I could capture a very special image. Arriving at the beach well before dawn, I’ll never forget sitting on these rocky shores far from home awaiting the sun. The smell of the sea, the salt spray in my face, and the calls of the seagulls as they passed overhead, reminded me again how special and awesome is the power of Mother Nature. She painted the dawn delicately before my eyes - and all I needed to do was close the shutter to capture the moment.
