アラスカ州ポートページ氷河
このショットで、月明かりに照らされた氷河という、アラスカの真の姿を表現したいと思いました。満月であることは分かっていたので、氷河の池のほとりに三脚を設置しました。夜は凍えるような寒さでしたが、月が地平線から昇る輝きを見た瞬間、アドレナリンが湧き上がりました。満月の青い光に照らされた氷河や氷山の中で、それは信じられないような体験でした。シャッターを押したとき、全身に鳥肌が立っていました。
The full moon’s reflection on that still glacial pond is so crisp it feels like I could step right into the shot. You can almost feel the freezing night air on your face just by looking at the detail in the ice.
The icy blue tones in the water and glacier are so crisp it feels like I'm standing on that freezing shore myself. The detail in the moonlight reflecting off the pond is unreal for a print this size.
The moon looks impossibly sharp hanging over that glacier, and the frozen pond in the foreground pulls you right into the scene. I keep noticing new details in the ice cracks every time I look at it.
