完璧な日の出のショットを求めて何週間も探し続け、コキビーチに着いた瞬間、これだと思いました。地平線にシルエットを描く遠くの島々と、海岸線に広がる火山岩の形や質感が、迫り来る熱帯の日の出のドラマチックな舞台を演出してくれました。三脚をできるだけ水辺に近づけ、カメラのアングルを非常に低くして、その場面の一部になるようにしました。早朝の海は青みがかって見え、このショットの強みは、空、海、前景という3つの異なる色調にあります。日の出のピンク色のトーンが雲の下から照らし、潮の満ち引きで岩に打ち寄せる波は、長時間露光によって渦巻く霧の毛布のように変わりました。
The colors at this spot are unreal—the water shifts from deep blue to turquoise right where the distant island sits on the horizon. I watched the sun come up for three mornings straight and still couldn't get enough of that view.
The way the shoreline curves toward that distant island made me feel like I’d stepped into a postcard, and the colors at dawn stayed true to the photo—no filters needed. It’s the kind of place that makes you forget to check your watch, just watching the light shift over the water.
The horizon line here is so clean it looks almost painted, with that lone island sitting perfectly in the frame. I’ve already set it as my phone wallpaper and catch myself staring at it every morning.
