セブン・セイクリッド・プールは、山の川からの淡水が海と出会う場所です。非常に特別な場所であり、その真の雰囲気を捉えたいと思いました。日中は人気の水泳スポットですが、日の出と日没時には、人混みや騒音がなくなり、完全に様変わりします。波がぶつかり合うさまざまな形や、地平線に広がる雲や色の変化する帯を観察しながら、集中する必要がありました。太陽が岩の質感を照らし、対照的な波のパターンが視線をショットの中心に引き寄せます。縦構図を使うことで、この力強いイメージの強さをさらに高めることができると分かっていました。
I hung this above my desk and it genuinely feels like a little window into that moment where the river meets the ocean. The way the fresh water and sea blend in the print is so calming, I catch myself staring at it during work.
The colors in this print are perfect—that deep blue where the fresh water mixes with the ocean really pulls you in. I’ve stared at it for five minutes straight and it feels like I can almost hear the waterfall. It’s the closest thing to being back in Hana without the flight.
The mist rolling off the falls makes the whole area feel alive, and the way the hiking path leads you right to where fresh water and ocean collide is exactly as shown. It’s a bit crowded by midday, but the moodiness of the morning light here is worth the early start.
