하와이 빅아일랜드
밤하늘을 촬영하는 것은 매우 어렵지만 또한 매우 보람 있는 일입니다. 빅아일랜드의 마우나 케아 정상, 해발 14,000피트에서의 경험은 제가 항상 기억할 특별한 장소입니다. 360°의 밤하늘에 둘러싸인 그런 경험. 저는 화씨 80도였던 힐로를 떠나, 그곳의 기온은 문자 그대로 얼어붙는 수준이었습니다. 저는 지구상에서 가장 맑은 하늘 중 하나를 활용해 이 사진을 꼭 찍어야만 했습니다. 30초 노출로 은하수의 성운들이 렌즈를 통해 드러날 수 있었습니다. 저는 카메라만이 볼 수 있고 인간의 눈으로는 볼 수 없는 광경에 압도되었습니다! 저는 칠흑 같은 밤 속에서 이 나무를 구도에 담았습니다. 답답하고 시행착오가 많았지만, 결국 원하는 사진을 얻었습니다. 대자연은 놀랍습니다.
