Zolang ik me kan herinneren, ben ik altijd al gefascineerd geweest door vliegen en toen de kans zich voordeed om dit majestueuze apparaat te fotograferen, was ik opgetogen. Dit meesterwerk uit de luchtvaartgeschiedenis - kijk naar de klassieke lijnen en het verbluffende detail op het reflecterende oppervlak. Deze schoonheid uit de lucht werd in 1937 in Californië geboren en was echt een pionier in de luchtvaartgeschiedenis - het overwinnen van het immense obstakel van een enorme enkele vleugelspanwijdte zorgde voor een revolutie in het luchtvervoer voor decennia.

Dit vliegtuig heeft meer dan tien jaar vliegtijd in de lucht doorgebracht en is nog steeds sterk - van 1937 tot op de dag van vandaag. Het afdrukken in zwart-wit was een voor de hand liggende keuze, die kracht, diepte en sterkte toevoegt aan dit meesterwerk.
