Ocean Falls

Pfeiffer Big Sur State Park, California 
This is an amazing meeting of the elements of nature–a free flowing fresh water stream reaching its journey’s end on the shores of the Pacific Ocean. I chose early evening to set up for this shot, the cliffs taking on a gorgeous glow as they basked in the warm light. I could hear the cries of otters and sea birds below me. I watched the motion of the tide gently caressing the beach, and as the waves receded, I used a long exposure to create a feeling of movement in the image.
