As I was walking through the bamboo forest on the Pipiwai Trail, in Hana, Maui, I was fascinated by the bamboo canopy. I thought a vertical shot would turn out great and I picked a section with unreal color variance, as most of the bamboo forest was green.
That vertical composition really captures the towering height of the stalks—you can almost hear the wind rustling through the canopy. The way the light cuts through the dense green makes it feel like you're right back on the trail.
The dappled light filtering through the canopy in this vertical shot really captures the quiet feel of the Pipiwai Trail. It’s a beautiful reminder of that hike, and the bamboo detail is crisp enough to notice individual stalks.
