Maui has a magical romantic feel to it — my goal was to capture this on film. I searched the coast, coves beaches and cliffs for the perfect location — I kept coming back to Kapalua beach. Now all I had to do was wait for the perfect sunset! It was a rough job! The delicate layout of the palms was critical to the shot — and this beach had everything that I had imagined. The palms provided a natural frame for the sunset, their silhouette enhanced the true essence of Hawaii. Returning to the beach time after time, waiting for that perfect sunset, finally paid off tonight. As the sun melted in the ocean, it cast a prism of color into the clouds. Looking at this shot you feel the romance, the rustling palms and a balmy summer night.
