An unusual cloud pattern forming off the horizon drew my attention immediately as I arrived at this location. I set up on the edge of a rocky outcrop, overlooking a backdrop of aquamarine ocean so clear I could see straight through to the sand below. The strengthening early morning sun reflected off the luminous surface of the water and created a blinding glare, but by using a polarizer I was able to capture the intensity of the scene whilst retaining detail throughout. The foreground trees reaching out to the sea beyond add a lovely perspective to the image - and it is easy to see how this area got its reputation as one of the most spectacular coastlines in Australia.
