A partir de um helicóptero a circular a 500 pés de altitude, a vastidão e a magnitude da Grande Barreira de Coral tornam-se evidentes. Já fotografei muitas vistas aéreas do recife, mas desta vez queria uma sensação mais abstrata na minha composição. Ao fotografar diretamente para baixo e sem incluir o horizonte, a imagem assume uma perspetiva invulgar. O incrível mosaico turquesa da estrutura do recife domina o primeiro plano e o tom azul geral acrescenta um elemento surpreendentemente poderoso.
