Algumas das minhas fotografias proporcionam experiências sensoriais tão intensas que sinto necessidade de tomar notas detalhadas para poder partilhar para sempre os momentos que levaram à captura da imagem. Ao fotografar "Tree of Life", abaixei-me junto ao chão para captar o rico contraste entre a folhagem da copa da árvore e a relva verde e luxuriante por baixo. A relva ainda estava húmida e exalava um aroma limpo a terra, e naquele momento encontrei exatamente o que procurava, ao perceber que estes minutos nunca poderiam ser replicados. A árvore estava no auge da cor; uma semana antes, as folhas teriam estado demasiado verdes; uma semana depois, talvez não tivesse encontrado nada. Com a luz suave do início da manhã ainda mais difundida pelo céu nublado, abri o obturador para uma longa exposição e sorri pela minha boa sorte. Mesmo depois de semanas a fotografar ao longo da costa, voltar a casa e ver esta fotografia ampliada trouxe-me de volta à paz e à espiritualidade da árvore enquanto esta se estendia para tocar o céu.
