Maheno Wreck

Twilight casts a dusky glow over the ghostly wreck of the ‘Maheno’ as she clings to her sandy burial ground on Fraser Island. The old passenger liner came to an untimely end in 1935 and has remained ever since, buffeted by the shifting moods of time and tide. In this sensitive yet powerful composition, it is hard to discern where the horizon slices the sky from the sea. The delicate motion of the waves and the deepening hue of sunset blend into a stunning pastel backdrop as the tide creeps in and out of the looming skeleton of the wreck.
