I had hiked the Blue Mountains for five days, scouting locations for a book I was shooting at the time. I shot many images of the forest and its beauty, but was really drawn to the base of this intricate waterfall. It really was a secret place to me. I needed overcast skies for soft lighting, and a long 4 second exposure gave the falls that mystical feeling. The cleansing first smells of the forest filled my lungs, and the gentle sound of the falls echoed through the valley. I hoped I captured all this through my lens.
