大煙山，田納西州
當秋末漸入冬，田納西州的氣溫降至冰點以下。大煙山的山谷與山峰終日籠罩在濃霧之中，拍攝條件極為艱難——但有一條經典的層巒疊嶂山脈，是我決心要捕捉的。歷經五次令人沮喪的日出拍攝嘗試，全被濃霧遮蔽，我幾乎放棄了希望。第六天清晨，當我坐在刺骨的黑暗中等待日出時，黎明的第一縷微光告訴我，運氣終於轉變了！破曉在水平線上灑下玫瑰色的光暈，遠方山脈的峰巒在浮現中顯露，懸浮於天際。前景中剪影的雲杉樹為畫面增添了透視感，完美傳達了大自然的力量與細膩。
The cold really came through in this one—those freezing temperatures and the fog clinging to the peaks made me feel like I was standing right there in the Smokies. I keep going back to the part where the valleys stay hidden, it's hauntingly beautiful.
