スペリオル湖の岸辺をハイキングしながら灯台のショットを探していると、岸辺に目が留まりました。色とりどりの地衣類が岩の上にタペストリーのように広がり、丸みを帯びた小石は形と色のコントラストが見事でした。時には、一つの要素に焦点を当て、見過ごされがちなものを探すのが好きです。それは私にとって挑戦であり、普段なら通り過ぎてしまうようなものを捉えることです。柔らかな午後の光がシーンを照らし、シャッターを切った瞬間が正しいと感じられました。
The photograph captures the lichen-covered shoreline so sharply that I can almost feel the cool Lake Superior air looking at it. It's become the centerpiece of my living room, and every guest asks where I found it.
The colors in this print are so rich they make me feel like I'm standing back on that rocky shore. I've had it hanging for two weeks now and I still catch myself staring at the detail in the foreground, it's like a little piece of the North Shore in my living room.
The lichen detail in this print is what sold me—those layers of green and orange against the gray rock feel so true to the North Shore. It's hanging in my living room and every time I pass it, I'm back on that trail.
