ポピーは風を好む——写真家にとっては最大の悪夢だ！アンテロープバレーに到着するとすぐに風が吹き荒れ、撮影は不可能だった。ほんのわずかな風でも、極めて繊細なポピーの花びらが動いてしまう。忍耐の大きな試練であり、何度も諦めかけた。ようやく5日後（5週間に感じられた）、私のわずかな忍耐が報われた。朝は静かで、色とりどりのフィールドへとハイキングした。被写界深度をすべて捉えるために長時間露光が必要で、シーンの真上にカメラを設置した。構図は力強く、ポピーは完璧に並んでいた。一連のショットを撮り、この1枚をギャラリー用に選んだ。
Finally got a calm morning to visit and the poppies were absolutely glowing in the soft light. The reserve's rolling hills made it easy to find a quiet spot without other people in the frame. Wind picked up just after 10am, but I'd already gotten the shots I needed.
Caught the golden hour just right and the poppies stretched forever, the wind even added a bit of life to the shots instead of ruining them. This place is a dream if you time it for the softer light.
The wind was chaos here—my tripod nearly took flight—but the poppy fields made every second worth it. That golden-hour glow over the hills is pure magic, and I got the shot I'd been chasing for months.
