알래스카, 포티지 빙하
저는 이 사진이 알래스카의 진정한 모습, 즉 달빛 아래 빙하를 대표하기를 원했습니다. 보름달이 뜬다는 것을 알고 빙하 연못 가장자리에 삼각대를 설치했습니다. 밤은 얼어붙는 듯 추웠지만, 지평선 위로 떠오르는 달의 빛을 보며 아드레날린이 솟구쳤습니다. 푸른 보름달에 비친 빙하와 빙산들 사이에서의 경험은 정말 놀라웠습니다. 셔터를 누를 때 온몸에 소름이 돋았습니다.
The full moon’s reflection on that still glacial pond is so crisp it feels like I could step right into the shot. You can almost feel the freezing night air on your face just by looking at the detail in the ice.
The icy blue tones in the water and glacier are so crisp it feels like I'm standing on that freezing shore myself. The detail in the moonlight reflecting off the pond is unreal for a print this size.
The moon looks impossibly sharp hanging over that glacier, and the frozen pond in the foreground pulls you right into the scene. I keep noticing new details in the ice cracks every time I look at it.
