나이아가라 폭포, 뉴욕
이곳은 정말 장엄합니다. 저는 이 장면을 제대로 담을 최고의 장소를 찾았습니다. 부분적으로 흐린 하늘 아래에서 카메라를 설치하고, 폭포의 아치에 비치는 빛의 변화를 지켜보며, 삼각대를 포효하는 폭포에 최대한 가까이 배치했습니다. 그 소음은 놀라웠고, 안개와 아름다움에 둘러싸여 '바로 그곳'에 있다는 느낌이었습니다. 이 사진을 위해 극적인 각도가 필요했습니다. 이렇게 거대한 자연의 경이로움에 이토록 가까이 서 있는 것은 강렬한 경험이었습니다. 이 프레임을 촬영했을 때 청록색 물빛이 생생하게 터져 나왔고 폭포 전체가 포효했습니다. 결코 잊지 못할 순간이었습니다.
The water here feels almost electric with energy, and I loved how the shifting clouds painted the arch in constant, changing hues. I could have stayed for hours just watching the light dance across the spray.
The mist hung low enough that the arch looked like it was cut from silver, and the way the light shifted through it every few minutes kept me planted for over an hour. I've seen a lot of waterfalls, but this one’s sheer scale makes everything else feel like a garden hose.
I drove three hours just to see it and the overcast sky made the falls look even more powerful than in any photo I've seen. Standing right at the edge of the arch, you can feel the spray hitting your face from twenty feet away — absolutely worth every mile.
