마운트 디저트 아일랜드, 메인
이 아름다운 등대는 마운트 디저트 아일랜드의 거친 남서쪽 해안선을 지키고 있습니다. 도로로 쉽게 접근할 수 있지만, 제가 원하는 구도를 얻기 위해서는 도달하기 어려운 위치였습니다. 이전에 일몰 때 촬영한 적이 있었지만, 그곳에서 일출을 경험하고 싶었습니다. 완전한 어둠 속에서 현장에 도착해 절벽을 손으로 더듬으며 올라갔습니다! 몹시 추웠고 화강암 바위들이 제 발걸음 하나하나를 삼키는 듯했습니다. 마침내 절벽, 등대, 수평선을 모두 담을 수 있는 완벽한 구도가 될 지점에 도달해 아슬아슬하게 카메라를 설치했습니다. 필름을 여러 롤 촬영할 무렵에는 손가락이 얼어붙었고, 대서양에서 솟아오르는 바닷물에 흠뻑 젖었습니다. 하지만 결과물을 보았을 때 모든 것이 가치 있었습니다. 이 사진을 정말 사랑합니다!
The view of the rocky coastline from this lighthouse is just stunning, and the fact it's so easy to drive right up to it made the visit effortless. I spent a good hour just watching the waves crash against the rocks below.
The vantage point from this spot is exactly what I was hoping for, and the way the lighthouse sits against the southwest coastline makes the whole scene feel dramatic even in photos. I’ve already framed one print and it’s the focal point of my living room now.
