마우이, 하와이
이 세 폭포를 하나의 세로 프레임에 담으면 거의 기하학적인 패턴이 나와서 멋집니다. 자연에서 실제로 디자인된 것처럼 보이는 무언가를 발견하면 정말 좋아합니다. 여기서 정말 흥미로운 점은 물이 웅덩이에 떨어지면서 무대 위 스포트라이트처럼 보인다는 것입니다. 더 잘 계획할 수 없을 정도입니다. 여기에는 엄청난 대칭이 있지만 제가 선택한 각도는 피사계 심도를 강조합니다. 그리고 아침 햇빛은 식물 성장을 강조하기에 완벽했습니다. 자연은 결코 저를 놀라게 하지 않습니다!
I was a bit worried the falls would blur together in the frame, but the way they cascade down the rock face gives each tier its own distinct shape while still feeling connected. That almost geometric rhythm it creates is exactly what makes this shot stand out from my usual waterfall photos.
The vertical alignment of those three falls creates such a clean, almost architectural rhythm that I keep coming back to look at it. It’s the kind of shot that feels both wild and perfectly composed at the same time.
