Deze trotse zandstenen soldaat staat op het meest oostelijke punt van Australië, in het prachtige Byron Bay. Na een uitputtende dag van fotograferen in de omgeving, klom ik naar de vuurtoren voor wat rust. Ik koos de leidende heklijn om dit krachtige beeld te omlijsten, en bij zonsopgang schilderde de synchroniciteit van de natuur het tafereel voor mijn ogen.

The view from the top after that climb is unreal, and the print captures that golden late-afternoon light perfectly. You can practically feel the sea breeze looking at it.
The sandstone texture is so crisp you can almost feel the sea breeze against it. I've framed it next to my window and it genuinely brings a bit of Byron Bay calm into the room every morning.
