Nature’s abstracts are elusive, emotive and powerful! The less there is, the more there is to see and to open your interpretation of life. I spent a week in Zion in mid December during record rainfalls. So heavy, in fact, that the park was eventually closed. It rained constantly for a week and hundreds of waterfalls cascaded down the impressive colored cliffs. I hiked the park and captured as many as I could. Shooting was difficult in the pouring rain and it ruined a lot of my shots as the blurred drops caused a milky pattern through the exposure. I finally got a break and focused on a small but intricate waterfall. The long exposure looks like twisted silk folded over the ochre rocks. Simplicity and power in nature. I love it.

The muted canyon layers in this piece shift with the light throughout the day, and the sparse December details make it feel almost meditative. It's already the calmest corner of my living room, and I keep catching myself staring at it longer than I planned.

I hung this above my desk and the December light in the canyon feels almost alive, like I can step right into that quiet week. The abstract swirl of the rock layers keeps pulling my eye back to something new each day.

The desert layers in this print have this quiet depth that shifts depending on the light, and the way the December canyon shadows fade into the paper feels almost meditative. I keep finding new details in the rock textures every time I walk past it in the hallway.
