I sometimes think of the ancient artists who did rock paintings as the first photographers, so it’s an honor to preserve their work on film. I love the burnt orange color of the rock in this shot. The afternoon light seemed to set the stone on fire and the story that has been painted so carefully still gets my imagination going. I tried to frame the shot in such a way that the original artist’s work is framed neatly without anything else interfering with its message. It’s still haunting for me to look at this image and think of the artist at work, just like me, but so long ago.

The burnt orange tones in this print are so warm and rich, it’s like having a piece of Goblin Valley’s sunset right on my wall. The framing alone makes me feel like I'm standing in Goblin Valley with the ancient artists, and the rock texture seems to glow on the print. I've hung it above my desk and catch myself staring at those burnt orange layers every day.

The burnt orange of the rock is so vivid it feels like you’re standing right there in Goblin Valley, which is exactly what I wanted to remember from my trip. The print quality really does justice to the ancient art, making it feel more like a photograph than a reproduction.
