Tasmania, Australia
Dawn arrives over the lavender fields of Nabowla, Tasmania. The first tentative fingers of light illuminate the regimented furrows of blossoms, enhancing their graphic form and shadow. In the midst of these rolling fields, I felt marooned in a sea of colour, and overwhelmed by the heady scent of lavender. The usual silence of a dawn shot was broken by the drone of a thousand buzzing bees, and I sat for a while as the day unfolded, enjoying the calming feeling my surrounds afforded me.

Abigail ★★★★★

The early morning light in this shot is so beautifully captured, the way it stretches across those precise rows of lavender gives it a real sense of depth. I keep noticing the subtle shadow play along the furrows every time I look at it—it feels like you're standing right there at dawn in Tasmania.

The way the dawn light catches those precise rows of purple is just stunning, the shadows adding a depth that photos don’t fully capture. I’ve had it up for a week and still find myself staring at the graphic contrast between the furrows and the blossoms.

Thomas ★★★★★

The row-by-row symmetry of the blossoms is what got me — it’s almost hypnotic in the frame, and the early light makes those shadows pop just right. I’ve stared at it every morning since it arrived and it somehow feels fresher each time.
