Panoramic verticals are extremely hard to shoot, but the results can be powerful. I had been beneath the earth’s surface in Antelope Canyon for days searching for that special angle. Finally, my efforts were rewarded. At a certain time mid-morning, this vertical scene really shone. Setting up my camera angle was critical, as it was such a tight space I was working in—the passage was only three feet wide. Two flowing canyon walls drew me into the canyon, and the light hitting the roof a hundred feet above added that special touch. When I looked at the artist proof out of the darkroom, I knew I had captured something special. The whole scene had a magical glow, created by the canyon light.
