Dreamland

Innamincka, Austrália. A minha terra natal. A solidão e o silêncio do interior. Uma árvore Adansonia solitária. A intensidade desta cena foi uma afirmação do poder e da beleza da Mãe Natureza. Passei semanas a explorar este vasto país sem ver uma única pessoa. É a remota que eu adoro. Isso realmente nos traz de volta à natureza. Como a maioria das pessoas teme esse tipo de isolamento, é a força motriz por trás da minha paixão. Estou à procura dos momentos que a maioria dos outros nunca verá. Enquanto fotografava o horizonte, transformando uma cena de outra forma simples numa obra de arte, o meu visor enquadrou as nuvens a começar a emergir. O padrão do céu começou a mudar, como se fossem uma série de pinceladas aleatórias. A cada momento que passava, a tempestade ganhava força. Então, num piscar de olhos, a tempestade irrompeu após a acumulação de um longo e seco verão. As nuvens criaram um céu pictórico. Ao sentir o cheiro do ar chuvoso do deserto, pressionei o obturador. É um momento que ficará comigo para toda a vida.
My homeland. The solitude and silence of the outback. A lone Adansonia tree. The intensity of this scene was an affirmation of the power and beauty of Mother Nature. I have spent weeks at a time exploring this vast country without seeing a single person. It’s the remoteness that I love. It really brings you back to nature. As most people fear this type of isolation, it is the driving force behind my passion. I’m chasing the moments that most others will never see. While I was shooting the horizon, changing an otherwise simplistic scene into a work of art, my viewfinder framed the clouds beginning to emerge. The pattern of the sky began to shift, as if they were a series of random brush strokes. As each moment passed, the storm was gathering momentum. Then, in the blink of an eye, the storm erupted after the buildup of a long, dry summer. The clouds created a painterly sky. As I smelled the scent of the rainy, desert air, I pressed my shutter. It is a moment that will stay with me for a lifetime.
