18 meses de preparação levaram a uma sessão fotográfica no Japão para recordar. O Bosque de Bambu de Arashiyama, em Quioto, foi o destino imaginado desde o início. A fotografar durante semanas sem descanso, a imagem continuava a escapar. A paciência foi essencial, pois o elevado número de turistas juntava-se à imprevisibilidade da Mãe Natureza; as condições de vento faziam o bambu balançar e dobrar, tornando impossível captar a fotografia. Com o tempo a esgotar-se e faltando apenas um dia, a última noite foi a derradeira e única oportunidade para capturar a verdadeira vibração zen pela qual o Japão é conhecido. Ao cair da noite, começou uma chuva ligeira, realçando a cor do bambu e transformando a floresta num lugar verdadeiramente mágico.
