Att fotografera natthimlen är extremt utmanande men också mycket givande. På toppen av Mauna Kea, på 14 000 fots höjd på Big Island, finns en speciell plats som jag alltid kommer att minnas. En sådan upplevelse – omgiven av 360° natthimmel. Jag hade lämnat Hilo, där det var 80°F, och nu var temperaturen iskall. Bokstavligen. Jag var tvungen att få den här bilden och dra nytta av en av de klaraste himlarna på jorden. En 30-sekunders exponering gjorde att nebulosorna i Vintergatan kunde visa sig genom linsen. Jag var helt överväldigad eftersom bara kameran kunde se detta, det mänskliga ögat kan inte! Jag ramade in det här trädet i nattens kolsvarta mörker. Det var frustrerande och mycket trial and error. Men till slut fick jag bilden. Moder Natur är fantastisk.
