Jag är verkligen hänförd när jag fotograferar havets oförutsägbara stämningar. För att fånga den här bilden reste jag till Orpheus Island i hopp om en dramatisk gryningsbild. Jag vaknade av ett brusande hav och tog mig med svag ficklampa till de klippiga stränderna i denna avskilda vik. När de första färgstrimmorna började lysa upp himlen ställde jag upp mitt stativ och väntade på att den oupphörliga rytmen från den inkommande tidvattnet skulle skapa den effekt jag hoppades på. I samma ögonblick som solen steg över horisonten tryckte jag instinktivt av slutaren, och jag visste att jag hade fått den bild jag ville ha. När jag knäböjde på den öde stranden lyfte gryningen mörkrets slöja framför mina ögon och jag bevittnade den sanna gryningen av en ny dag.
