Blue Mountains National Park, Australien
Jag tillbringade några dagar med att vandra på stigarna i Blue Mountains och stötte på detta känsliga vattenfall som föll ner i en perfekt, grund pöl. Jag valde en vertikal komposition för styrka; jag ville framhäva de färgade stenarna i förgrunden. Även om bäcken bara var en rännil, framhävde den bilden jag ville förmedla och fullbordade ramen.
The sound of that waterfall hitting the pool was pure meditation after a long morning hike. The water is crystal clear and the perfect depth for cooling your feet without any fear of slipping.
That shallow pool is dangerously inviting after a long hike—I sat there for almost an hour just listening to the water. The way the light hit the cascade around 3pm made the whole scene look unreal. Easily the highlight of my Blue Mountains trip.
The way the waterfall fans out just before it hits the pool is mesmerizing—I sat there for a good twenty minutes watching the light catch the spray. Even with a few other hikers around, it felt completely my own.
