これまでで最も寒い朝のひとつでした。目の前で川が凍りつき、氷の塊が流れていくのが見えました！冬用装備を完全に身にまとっていましたが、フィルムを装填する指の感覚はほとんどありませんでした。まさに極限の自然でした。夜の霜が木々を覆い、ガラスのように輝いていました。カメラをセットすると、太陽が差し込み、凍った景色を逆光で照らしました。極寒の状況に耐えられなくなるまで、何枚も撮影を続けました。完成した作品は、まるで絵画のようです。
The mist hanging over the water made the ice chunks look like they were floating through a dream—the detail in those trees is sharp enough to feel the chill. Captured that bitter stillness perfectly, like stepping right into that Ohio morning.
The frozen river and drifting ice are captured so sharply you can almost feel the sting of that morning air—the detail in the icy water is incredible. I keep coming back to the way the light hits the frost on the trees in the background. It's a hauntingly beautiful piece that makes me want to visit
The ice chunks drifting past in that river shot pulled me right back to the freezing morning I had there—the cold is so real you can almost feel it through the screen. The frost detail on the branches is what really makes it for me, it’s sharp and honest without being overdone.
