フランス、ヴァロンソル
オーストラリアのタスマニアでラベンダー畑の初期のギャラリー作品を撮影して以来、南フランスのプロヴァンス地方を撮影することをずっと夢見てきました。そこには最も美しいラベンダー畑があります。 魅力と歴史の組み合わせが、この夢を本当に実現させてくれました。期待をはるかに超えるものでした。
プロヴァンスの趣のある小さな村々や裏道を五週間かけて探し歩いた後、この魔法のような風景がようやく現れました。それは過酷な一週間でした。夢のショット「ル・レーヴ」を撮るために必要な光と雰囲気を捉えるまで、毎日午前3時起きで20時間の日々が続きました。最終的なイメージは、そこにいたときの感覚を正確に物語っています。美しさの感覚的な洪水と、ラベンダーの紛れもない心を落ち着かせる香りです。
I’ve been chasing that classic Provençal light for years, and this piece finally captures the dreamy haze over the Valensole rows just as I imagined it. The depth in the purples and the way the horizon softens makes it feel like you’re standing right there at golden hour.
The lavender rows stretch so perfectly toward the horizon that I keep zooming in just to admire the depth of field – it’s like being dropped right into that Valensole morning. The way the light catches the purple tones makes my office wall feel like a window to Provence.
The colors in this capture of Valensole are so true to the lavender fields I remember, it brings me right back to the golden hour light. I’ve already framed it in my hallway, and the depth in the rows of blooms makes it feel like you could walk right into the frame.
