ハワイ、マウイ島。波の純粋な魔法を撮ることは、常に予測不可能な挑戦です。海に没頭することで、母なる自然の魂に近づくことができました。サーファーのように、私は2週間スウェルレポートに釘付けになり、何かが起こるのを待っていました – 完璧な波を待っていたのです。日の出の色彩がこのショットの鍵でした – その万華鏡のような色が波に反射するのを望んでいました。ついにスウェルが予測されました。その夜、私は機材をまとめ、眠ろうとしました。この新しい経験は初めての撮影のように感じられ、ほとんど眠れませんでした。太陽が昇るにつれ、期待は高まりました – ショットはそこにあると分かっていました。何時間も母なる自然に波の中で翻弄された後、私は狂ったように波を次々と撮影しました – それは中毒のようでした。私はギャラリーの壁に飾るために、何千ものフレームからこの画像を選びました。
Shooting the pure magic of waves is always an unpredictable challenge. Getting immersed in the ocean brought me closer to Mother Nature’s soul. Like a surfer, I was glued to the swell report for two weeks waiting for something to happen – waiting for the perfect wave. Sunrise colors were key to this shot – I wanted that kaleidoscope to reflect through the wave. Finally a swell was predicted. That night I packed up my gear and tried to sleep. This new experience felt like my first shoot – I hardly slept a wink. As the sun rose my expectations were high – I knew the shot was there. After hours of Mother Nature knocking me around in the surf, I shot like a madman wave after wave – it was an addiction. I selected this image from thousands of frames for my gallery wall.
