キャニオンの光にはいつも魅了されるものがあります。絶えず変化し、キャニオンの中にまったく新しい世界を創り出します。この朝、キャニオンの高い壁は冬の朝日を浴びて美しく輝いていました。私が最初にキャニオンに入ったのです。その感覚が全身を駆け巡りました。古代の砂岩の壁と砂漠の香りを感じながら、超広角レンズを使い、キャニオンの壁に身を寄せて、砂岩の大洞窟全体をこのアングルで捉えました。まるで、古代ナバホの地へと続く鍵穴から時間を遡って覗き込んでいるかのようでした。その信じられない感覚を、私はフィルムに収めたかったのです。
