18か月の準備を経て、忘れられない日本での撮影が実現しました。京都の嵐山竹林は、当初から思い描いていた目的地でした。休む間もなく数週間にわたって撮影を続けましたが、それでも完璧な一枚は撮れませんでした。多くの観光客が訪れる中、自然の予測不能さに忍耐が求められました。風が強く、竹が揺れ曲がるため、思い通りのショットを捉えることは不可能でした。時間がなくなり、残り1日となった最後の夜が、日本が誇る真の禅の雰囲気を捉える最後の、そして唯一のチャンスでした。夜が更けると小雨が降り始め、竹の色を一層鮮やかにし、森を本当に魔法のような場所へと変えました。
