슈피리어 호숫가를 따라 등대 사진을 찍기 위해 걷다가 해안선을 발견했습니다. 형형색색의 지의류가 바위 위를 마치 태피스트리처럼 덮고 있었고, 둥글고 매끄러운 자갈들은 형태와 색상의 대비가 놀라웠습니다. 때로는 하나의 요소를 분리하여 보이지 않는 것을 찾는 것을 좋아합니다. 그렇지 않으면 그냥 지나칠 법한 것들을 포착하는 것이 저에게 도전이 됩니다. 부드러운 오후 햇살이 장면을 비추고, 셔터를 누를 때 그 순간이 딱 맞았습니다.
The photograph captures the lichen-covered shoreline so sharply that I can almost feel the cool Lake Superior air looking at it. It's become the centerpiece of my living room, and every guest asks where I found it.
The colors in this print are so rich they make me feel like I'm standing back on that rocky shore. I've had it hanging for two weeks now and I still catch myself staring at the detail in the foreground, it's like a little piece of the North Shore in my living room.
The lichen detail in this print is what sold me—those layers of green and orange against the gray rock feel so true to the North Shore. It's hanging in my living room and every time I pass it, I'm back on that trail.
