開了八小時車後，我只看見萬里無雲的天空，這對我來說等於沒戲。我需要陰天的光線，為我的照片增添完美的秋日氛圍。我只有一件事可做：等待，而這對我並不容易。天氣預報提到有陣雨，但一如往常什麼也沒發生。這將是對我耐心的真正考驗。別無選擇，因為樹葉每分每秒都在變色。經過漫長五天和數千英里的車程，情況終於開始改變。找到完美的地點卻因為強烈的陽光而無法好好拍攝，實在令人沮喪。我腦中早有這張照片完美的畫面，等待大自然現身簡直令人抓狂。終於，在第六天我正準備放棄時，我感覺到空氣中的變化。92號公路是我的目的地。我心中已有完美地點，但大自然會配合嗎？我盡快穿過濃霧，希望上方的陽光不會奪走我渴望已久的畫面。當我抵達最終目的地時，這片夢幻景象呈現在我眼前——它超越了我所有的想像。我輕輕按下快門。秋日空氣的氣息為場景增添了另一種感官體驗，而完全的寧靜只被相機捕捉瞬間的快門聲打破。這就是我為之而活的一切。
The light filtering through those yellow aspens is so soft it almost glows, exactly the moody autumn feel I drove hours for. The layers of mist in the valley add real depth, not just a flat pretty shot. I've already printed it large and it holds up beautifully.
The aspens were still holding most of their gold when I arrived, and the soft overcast glow made those hillsides look like they were lit from within. This shot captures that Deer Valley mood perfectly, exactly the kind of autumn color I was hoping to freeze.
Drove up hoping for moody light and this delivered exactly that overcast autumn feel I was chasing—the way it captures the golden aspens against those gray skies is unreal. Printed it large and the detail in the misty layers just pulls you in.
