マウイ島、ハワイ
キヘイのビーチに到着したとき、目の前で繰り広げられる壮大なショーを想像もしていませんでした。私は 前日にこの場所を下見し、波のパターンがビーチの緩やかな曲線に沿って互いに交差する様子を観察していました。 この波のフォーメーションをショットの主役にしたいと思っていましたが、地平線が燃えるような輝きで染まり始めるのを見て、壮大な夕日も楽しめると確信しました。 太陽が十分に低くなり、その反射が海岸線まで届くのを待ってから、 照らされた海から露出を決め、ヤシの木が夕空に対して劇的なシルエットを描くようにしました。
I was initially skeptical about adding a beach scene to my wall, but the way the waves are rendered at Kihei actually makes the room feel calmer. It’s a big piece, but the color depth in the water and sand pulls you right in, like you’re standing there watching the tide turn.
The beach at Kihei is a scene stealer, with the waves putting on a show right at sunset that I didn't want to end. Captured it all in one frame, and the way the light hits the water in this shot is just stunning.
The way the ocean rolls into that perfect turquoise curve is straight mesmerizing, and you can practically feel the Hawaiian sun on your skin just by looking at it. The wave pattern in the foreground gives it so much depth, I catch something new every time I glance at it.
