조명이 전부입니다. 저는 이 아치의 구도를 발견했고, 이 장엄한 아치를 통해 다른 세계를 바라보는 듯한 경이로운 잠재력이 있다는 것을 알았습니다. 올바른 조명만 있으면 된다고 생각했습니다. 전날 일출 때 이 장면을 촬영했지만, 조명이 평평하고 밋밋해서 별로 만족스럽지 않았습니다. 다른 느낌이 필요했습니다. 맑고 구름 없는 하늘이 5일 동안 이어지기를 기다렸는데, 5주처럼 느껴졌습니다. 마침내 6일째 되는 날, 구름이 모이는 것을 보고 열 번째로 아치를 찾아갔습니다. 기대에 차서 이중 아치를 신중하게 구도로 잡았습니다. 색상이 몇 분 동안 짙어졌고, 저는 셔터를 눌렀습니다. 그 장면은 원시적인 그림처럼 보였고, 외로운 매의 울음소리만이 저의 유일한 동반자였습니다. 저는 이 작품을 사랑합니다.
