I love shooting beaches when they are absolutely pristine, like this one. The sand cays on the Great Barrier Reef are perfect, as they are untouched, virgin islands. I always look for a point of interest to keep an image together. I captured this scene vertically to give it strength, and the shell really set the mood. A long exposure of the waves completed the shot.
The aerial view of the sand cay really captures that untouched, pristine feel I was hoping for—it's like a postcard of the reef. The colors pop perfectly on my monitor, and it’s already my new desktop wallpaper.
The water clarity in this one is unreal—you can see straight down to the sand ripples without any murk. It’s exactly the untouched, virgin-island feel I hunt for when scouting new coastal spots, and it’s already my wallpaper.
This is the kind of shot that makes me feel like I’m standing right on the sand, and the untouched reef line comes through perfectly. The colors are so true to what’s actually there, no weird over-processing to fight through.
